Music: Stolen, Dashboard Confessionals

Lyn is: in the computer lab, wondering how come her college computer lab has flat screen monitors for the computers when it took ages for her mum to get herself one for home use..

Was es ist

Es ist Unsinn
sagt die Vernunft
Es ist was es ist
sagt die Liebe

Es ist Unglück
sagt die Berechnung
Es ist nichts als Schmerz
sagt die Angst
Es ist aussichtslos
sagt die Einsicht
Es ist was es ist
sagt die Liebe

Es ist lächerlich
sagt der Stolz
Es ist leichtsinning
sagt die Vorsicht
Es ist unmöglich
sagt die Erfahrung
Es ist was es ist
sagt die Liebe

... No, i haven’t gone senile and started spouting seemingly incomprehensible things and just formatted it to look pretty on my blog. It’s German. Honestly, i’ve always thought that it’d be very difficult to speak German, but apparently not, as there are plenty of English words that are similar to German ones.

By the way, this poem (yes, it is a poem) was shown to me by none other than Ms. Foo, the ‘ pretty German + football = obsession’ girl. Thanks again, hey. =)

What it is

It is nonsense
says reason
It is what it is
says love

It is misfortune
says calculation
It is nothing but pain
says fear
It is hopeless
says insight
It is what it is
says love

It is ridiculous
says pride
It is careless
says caution
It is impossible
says experience
It is what it is
says love

(by Erich Fried, translated by M. Kaldenbach)

Smiles.

~Lyn.

… and it’s weird that i’ll miss the smile that never fails to appear along the corridors that every once in a while.
